Riley St Garage
Several weeks ago I asked a friend of mine to catch up and since I heard that Riley St Garage was hosting lady lunch Iunches on weekends to coincide with International Ladies Day. Yay for women!
Located in a beautiful Art Deco building, Riley St Garage maintains its original 1910 industrial warehouse elements whilst incorporating spectacular design finishes including rich leathers, steel, brass and copper detailing.
The menu is modern Australian with a focus on share plates, coupled with a spectacular oyster bar. Must-try items include: smokey soy truffle oysters, chorizo corn dog, beer tempura morton bay bugs & the crispy pork knuckle. Luckily a few of these items were on our 8 course set menu.
I didn't know how to feel when I saw that shoestring fries w/ aioli vinegar was the 6th course. But it kind of made sense because I was still hungry and generally fried potatoes are just the fix to make you full(er).
Overall, Riley St Garage is a great place to wind down (or up), have fun and catch up with friends as well as sample some really good modern Australian fare.
